The new Sunrise Mart opened on June 19, and is serving customers at 3105 North Anthony. For the first time since the closure of Scott’s Food & Pharmacy in 2014, North Anthony has a grocery store at Anthony & Crescent.1
The new Sunrise Mart is located in what was previously the pharmacy building for Scott’s Food & Pharmacy.2 Sunrise Mart carries an assortment of fresh and packaged foods, including fresh fruits, meat and vegetables, along with fresh local milk from Kuehnert Dairy. They also carry spices, household and personal care items, and sell lottery tickets.
The old pharmacy counter in back has been transformed into Antojitos Mexicanos El Viejon #2, a Mexican restaurant with carry-out and dine-in options.
A USPS collection box is located in front of the store for customers’ convenience. Mail is picked-up at 10:00AM daily.
Sunrise Mart also has a location at 1235 Runnion Avenue.

The former Scott’s grocery building, originally a Rogers Markets location, was purchased by SuperValu in 1995, and later re-branded as Scott’s, which had been purchased by SuperValu in 1991. Kroger purchased Scott’s from SuperValu in 2007, and continued to operate the Scott’s Food and Pharmacy on North Anthony for the next seven years. After its closure, the abandoned building caught fire; it was later found to have roof problems which put it in danger of collapse, and was condemned and demolished in 2018. ↩︎
